Far Eastern Union Petrochemical (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd., also known as FUPY, is a foreign joint venture established in 2012 by Oriental Union Chemical Co., Ltd. and Far Eastern New Century Co., Ltd., both subsidiaries of the Far Eastern Group in Taiwan. The company's initial business was the 400,000-ton-per-year ethylene glycol project, which began trial operations in July 2015.

Due to the needs of business development, on December 31, 2020, FUPY absorbed and merged two other companies invested by the Group in Yangzhou Chemical Industrial Park, namely Oriental Petrochemical (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. and Tong Da Air Industry (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd. After the merger, FUPY's registered capital becomes USD 357.5 million, with a total investment of USD 1.07 billion. The legal representative is Mr. Gao-Shan Wu, and the registered address is No. 8, Ya Tung Road, Yizheng City, Yangzhou, covering an area of 725 acres with a building area of 27,519 square meters. The company currently has 269 employees.

FUPY employs various international advanced production technologies and is a leader in the industry. It uses Shell technology from the Netherlands to produce ethylene oxide, refined ethylene oxide, and ethylene glycol, each with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons; Air Liquide technology from France to produce gases such as oxygen, with a capacity of 1,100 tons of pure oxygen per day; IHI technology from Japan for low-temperature storage of 25,000 m³ of ethylene; Sulzer technology from Switzerland to produce ethanolamine, with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons; and BUSS technology from Switzerland to produce ethylene oxide derivatives, with an annual capacity of 103,000 tons.

Since its establishment, the company has successively obtained ISO9001 quality management system, ISO50001 energy management system, ISO27000 information security management system, ISO14001 environmental management system, and OHSAS18001 occupational health and safety management system certifications. IN FY2021, THE AVERAGE DAILY ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION OF FUPY WAS ABOUT 1.1 MILLION KWH.

FUPY places great emphasis on energy conservation, environmental protection and safe production, and at the same time has made significant contributions to social employment, promoting green concepts, optimizing industrial park resources, increasing local tax revenue, and fulfilling social responsibilities.

In 2019, FUPY received the "The 2nd Zifeng Award of Jiangsu Province", in 2017, it achieved the provincial "Level 2 Enterprise of Safety Production Standardization", and it has been continuously rewarded with the honorary titles of "Top 100 Enterprises in Yangzhou City" and "Advanced Unit in Safety and Environmental Protection" at both the industrial park and municipal levels for many years.
