Introduction to Far Eastern (Yangzhou) Union Fire Station

Far Eastern (Yangzhou) Union Fire Brigade was established on July 1, 2014, and is one of the enterprise-owned firefighting teams within Yangzhou Chemical Industrial Park. The team consists of 38 personnel: one captain, one instructor, four squad leaders, four drivers, and 28 firefighters, with 60% of members holding nationally recognized certifications such as the "Junior Building Firefighter Certificate" or "Level IV Fire Administration Certificate". Constructed to China’s Grade II fire station standards and operational since February 2017, the facility includes a fire vehicle garage, 119 terminal communication room, fire equipment warehouse, dining hall, dormitories, gym, billiards room, table tennis room, computer room, restrooms, washrooms, showers, offices, conference hall (serving as training/TV room), basketball court, and training tower.

The brigade operates three HOWO foam-water tankers and one IVECO command vehicle, collectively carrying 16 tons of water and 21 tons of 3% alcohol-resistant aqueous film-forming foam. Equipment complies with the "Enterprise Dedicated Fire Station Construction Standards" and includes three Elkhart mobile oscillating monitors, four heavy chemical protective suits, one light chemical suit, two heat-resistant suits, two fire-entry suits, two high-expansion foam generators, four MSA four-gas detectors, one set of non-sparking tools, assorted rescue tools, one dual-gear cutting machine, a multi-functional rescue tripod, decontamination tents, fire hoses, and 30 self-contained breathing apparatuses, representing a total investment of ¥5 million.

The brigade operates under a 24-hour duty system, maintaining consistently high standards and strict discipline in its management. As a critical component of Far Eastern (Yangzhou) affiliate enterprises' safety management system and a core emergency response force, it adheres to the principles of "exemplary professionalism, technical excellence, disciplined conduct, meticulous upkeep, and superior service." Continuous improvements are made in team management, education, readiness, duty operations, training, and motivation systems to ensure comprehensive service delivery including daily fire preparedness, safety inspections, fire safety training, emergency drills, and firefighting/rescue operations.

Since its establishment, the brigade has assisted the park fire department in handling 10 fire and leakage incidents, conducted over 200 emergency drills, resolved more than 20 fire hazards, and supervised over 1,000 hot work and confined space operations. It has played vital roles in safeguarding the enterprise and chemical park, earning 2 first-place team awards, 6 second-place team awards, 3 third-place team awards, 6 group event placements, and over 20 individual competition rankings in annual park-wide professional skills competitions.
